島根県警は、警察署内のトイレで拳銃などを不適切に取り扱ったとして県内の警察署に勤務する女性警察官を戒告処分としました。
9月4日付けで戒告処分を受けたのは島根県内の警察署に勤務する20代の女性巡査長です。
島根県警によりますと、この女性巡査長は6月19日の午後0時52分頃から約3分間、警察署内のトイレの手洗い場に拳銃などが入ったベルトを置いたままにしたということです。
一般職の女性職員が手洗い場に拳銃などが入ったベルトが置いてあるのを目撃し、後日、警察署の職員に申し出たことにより発覚しました。
女性巡査長は「早くトイレに行きたくてあわてていた」と話していて、拳銃などを洗面所に置いたままにしたのはこのときだけだということです。
島根県警は幹部が全ての警察署をまわり、業務指導を行うなどして再発防止に努めるとしています。
